Volunteer
As a living museum we offer unique volunteer opportunities. These opportunities help our volunteers gain new skills and knowledge. We understand that volunteering is a big commitment and should be a fun, stress free experience. We strive to work with every one of our volunteers to make sure they feel valued, while also promoting our mission.
We have many areas and levels of volunteering to help meet everyone’s interest!
Contributor Volunteers
If you would like to occasionally volunteer, this is the level for you. Contributor volunteers are extremely important to the running of our events, daily operations and maintenance. It allows volunteers access to community development opportunities on their time and provides the museum essential support we need. If you are interested in being a contributor volunteer, please fill out the volunteer application form below. Our staff will reach out to you when we have projects and events where we need help. You will also be added to our email list for our monthly newsletter.
Leader Volunteers
Leader Volunteers are the building blocks of the museum. Without them our programs, events and facilities would suffer. Leaders are our more active volunteers. They receive training in areas they are interested in, along with after hour access. Leaders are essential in helping share skills, knowledge and history of rural Harford County. They are cherished by our patrons, Museum Team and Board Members. If you’re interested in becoming a Leader Volunteer, please fill out the form below.
Junior Volunteers
Under 18 years of age, but want to join the community? Volunteer with Steppingstone! We offer Junior Volunteer opportunities, depending on age and parental consent. Fill out the form below to connect with our staff.
Group Volunteering
Volunteering isn’t just for individuals. Group volunteering is always welcome at the Museum. If your group is looking to volunteer with us, please email the Executive Director to discuss details and availability.
