Steppingstone exhibits share Harford's rural heritage!

Tour the museum to see the many different exhibits- some with live animals, some with live artisans, and some with interactive fun for the whole family!  The focus of our exhibits is the rural heritage of the area and keeping the historical trades, arts, and crafts alive.  We have a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and community partners that love to share handcrafts, homesteading skills, trades, and arts with you.

Our newly reopened exhibits feature a range of artifacts and the stories behind them. Come by and see for yourself the very objects once used by Harford Count-ians in the 20th century for luxury, work, and entertainment! From the working farm woman to the Founder of the Steppingstone, these exhibits cater to all who are interested in learning about our local history.

You can visit the chickens any day during daylight hours.    Stop in the office and ask the Staff about feeding the chickens!

Barn Quilt

Designed and created by Deborah J Janelle

The quilt chosen for the background of our Barn Quilt is inspired from one found in the museums textile collection. Each flower in the quilt reflects a different aspect of this historic place.
